I’m Sandy, a Professionally trained makeup artist and makeup teacher from Manila.
Born and raised in Philippines, grew up learning to appreciate the blend of beauty from different ethnicities in her extra ordinary birth place.
Her love affair with makeup began when she was a practitioner and a former secondary school teacher in Manila. The transition to makeup was an easy one, once colleagues and friends notice her exceptional passion and hidden talent.
Sandy Austria is the owner and lead hair and makeup artist to Sandy Bugay Professional Hair & Makeup Artistry. She was trained at the prestigious Hd Makeup Academy under the wing of Jeave and Christefanie who became her mentors and helped her boost her career in makeup. After getting certifications and trainings, Sandy spent two years interacting with vendors, photographers, artist, models and clients helping to manage to build impressive folio and connection.
She specialized in Bridal and Fashion Hair and Makeup. She was known for her HD- Camera ready looks for photography shoot such as senior portraits, boudoir photography, engagement photos and headshots as well as commercial and editorial shoots. A skilled professional and versatile artist using both airbrush makeup and traditional makeup to achieve a fresh and lovely look. Her style has been described as “natural glamour”. Bringing out the natural beauty of her clients while adding a touch of glamour for that special occasions.
She quit her teaching job when she was 27 years old and decided to just go for it and pursue makeup full-time because of her love and passion for the craft. It’s been eight years since then and I never looked back.
On most days, you can find her running around the city–in a hotel for a wedding makeup gig, in a studio for an editorial shoot, in private studio teaching aspiring makeup artists and enthusiast or in her own atmosphere wondering and learning new skills for arts and crafts. Unpredictable, really, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Sandy believes that makeup does not only enhance a person’s natural beauty, it can also uplift someone’s mood and self-confidence. Whatever one’s reason is for putting makeup on, one thing’s for sure: it’s always fun to do!
Sandy is a perfectionist and doesn’t let a client leave her chair unless every detail on her face is absolutely picture perfect. She spends a lot of time on each and every client, because quality means way more to her than quantity does. Her work is always described as extremely detailed, she goes above and beyond to make her clients walk away feeling their absolute prettiest.
Currently, most of her clients are brides and bridal party. She loves working with and connecting with new people. Her passion is also product research, knowledge and techniques and she is always on quest for the best of everything, no matter the brand. She believes her work with people is really about finding the essence of someone is and reflecting it through the her artistry.
Since 2012 Sandy has worked using a variety of different artistry styles from commercial, film and photographic work to more avant garde work within fashion and stage. Her makeup services include weddings, proms, makeup lessons, events, makeovers, special occasions and fashion and commercial makeup.
