EASECOX INTERNATIONAL GROUP AWARD 2017 : A BEAUTY MAKEOVER

Happy makeover Sunday friends!!.
I am all excited to share a Makeover I’ve done for my ever loyal repeat client, Ms Lao. She’s currently affiliated to the Easecox International Group. I’m super glad she trusted us enough to do another beauty makeover!

We arrived at exactly 12:30 nn at the lobby of Marriott Grand Ballroom, Manila. Taking our selfie first before we proceed to the Executive West Wing 11 where all the hair and makeup artists from various team are doing their stuff and they are just busy like a bee.

Me and my ever loyal, hardworking hairstylist, ElsieDlr
Lorelaine our bts photographer for that day.. Thank you 🙂

                Medium: Airbrush Makeup

Skin: Combination skin ( Normal / Oily)

Request : Glam Makeup / smokey halo eyes

For yesterday’s client, she particularly requested for Airbrush Makeup and of course, her wish will always be my command! If you think she looks familiar, well, I did her beauty makeover last January 2017 same event.

For airbrush makeup, it is very important to prime the skin after skincare and cover spots/marks with concealer before you proceed with airbrush foundation application. I used Rimmel Stay Matte Mattifying Base Primer all over her face and concealed redness with my Graftobian Derma wheel concelear pallete. I used Luminess and Occ Airbrush foundation using dark and light shades to contour and highlight at the same time.

I also applied OCC blush underneath as a base and applied powder blush on top. That’s my secret in making sure my client won’t lose its blushing look! 🙂

I trimmed her brows and redefined its shape with the mixture of brow gel, cream and pencil! As for the eyes, primers are so important to keep the eye shadows long lasting so I applied a good amount of nurturing force twinkle but not wrinkle eye base, set it with a little translucent powder.

Her eye makeup is more on the neutral side, soft halo smokey eyes based in pencil technique, was created adding extra oomph by applying gold pigments at the center of the lid and at the inner corner of her eyes. And of course I never skip false lashes application as you can immediately see the effect on photos.

I lined the lips with Fs Mauve shade lip liner and painted the lips with kryolan cool toned pink lipstick to complete the look!

Finalizing the hair and makeup look of our client.

Taking a quick selfie with Ms Lao before her photo off session as she will receive an award.

Thank you so much Ms Lao for always choosing us to be your glam team. Priceless!!

Do you love my airbrush makeover??.. Thanks for reading. Have a nice day!

MUSLIM WEDDING ON A SPRING BLING

A couple of months ago I got booked to my first  ever Muslim Wedding. I got so excited because 1. I have never been to one yet; 2. I know it will be an eye opener for  me as regards to Muslims rites; and 3. I am open to learning different cultures and traditions.

The lovely couple are Jeremy and Sahara who were married in the Plaza Ibarra Events Venue in Timog, Quezon City, where a restaurant set up are allowed for the muslim wedding ceremony. A mosque too but not all the time just like Christians. It was a beautiful All White Set up of venue (brides choice) haha. Even the relatives and guest were all dressed up in white.

Ceremonial dance for the newly wed couple

Just to give a short research on Muslim Matrimony, they are carried out in various ways as to the culture they are accustomed to. In the Philippines, Muslim Matrimony are arranged by parents and relatives with bride and groom.

To muslim, their women cannot marry outside of their faith. However, Muslim men can do as long as their children are raised as Muslim. After the acceptance of the offer of marriage the groom must give the bride a Mhar (dowry). From what i learned from the wedding of my couple the groom gave cash and golds and the things the bride wishes.

My beautiful bride in Wedding Prep look taken from my phone

Meet my glamorous bride, Sahara in her Wedding Hair and Makeup Prep look, wearing her custom made ivory white bridal robe. I know what’s on your mind???:) It’s a Muslim bride she should wear dramatic colored eye makeup look. Well Sahara trusted me enough to glam her up in a modern way!…

Muslim Bridal eye makeup is an important part.

The modern Muslim bridal look has shifted from being traditional to the modern technique. Heavy eye makeup is an integral part of a Muslim wedding.  The eye and lips should look sensous and appealing and the rest of the facial makeup remain minimal.

Modern Muslim eye makeup look based in cream and gel Liner techniques. She had a subtle wing smokey eye and  I adjust the look when she’s in her red bridal gown.

To start with the eyemakeup, shape the eyebrow with the help of an eyebrow pencil and choose at least two to three shades for the bridal eye makeup. I used Kryolan, Graftobian and Lorac Pro Pallete. These brands never fails me.

Two important things to take note when doing Muslim bridal eye makeup : Everything should be applied strategically and should match the bridal outfit.

Muslim Bridal final look complementing her warm red gown made by Paolo Blanco

For the based of my bride, I made sure that I prep and prime the face for a long lasting appearance. Applied the airbush based match to even tone the skin  and conceal blemishes and imperfections. Now the canvass is ready.

Doing makeup in details. Everything should be in matchy matchy tone

Sahara wore warm red lace gown in sparkling faceted studs sewn on  her long sleeved gown with cape (very queenly siya).

A very intricate and grand presentation of their culture, the brides is beautiful on her wedding day

Natural looking high definition airbrush makeup on a Groom, Jeremy on his wedding day. It may come as a surprise, but makeup isn’t inherently feminine or a “woman thing;” it’s merely a feature-enhancing, flaw-minimizing, photo-readying thing!

Getting ready!!

The groom, I was surprised to see, was not into Muslim attire but wore a Western style suit

We are waiting for the ceremony to begin at the holding area of the venue. I learned from one of the entourage the following wedding rites:

  • The marriage ceremony called Nikah. Bride and groom are separated. The bride is locked in one covered tent (kubol), where she is kept from her  groom.
  • The audience listens to a marriage sermon given by the imam to solemnize the wedding.
  • The groom was first wed to the father of the bride, a sign of assurance that he will take care of their daughter. After a few closing words, they united together with white hanky to close the Nikah. They will parade towards the area where the bride is carefully locked.

The only bridesmaid that we glammed up.

The groom and the bride parades towards the stage, followed by their entourage. The couple is then seated together up front, and prayers are read for the successful marriage.

Here are some photos during wedding preps up to the ceremony:

I was really glad I was able to witnessed this Muslim wedding. My first time proved a worthy one as I was able to learn many things in the Muslim culture. Have you attended a different Wedding rite?? Please share. 🙂

MISS GLOBAL PHILIPPINES 2017 : A BEAUTY PAGEANT MAKEOVER

Last month, I had the privilege to do the makeup of the Miss Global Philippines 2017 candidates  from a photo & video shoot, presscon, major events up to the Grand Coronation night last June 24, 2017 at the Resorts World Manila and work alongside with fellow makeup artist and hair artist of TeamLiza Querubin! It was such an honor and I want to thank Liza Q.  for having me as part of the team. 🙂 I would like to introduced Mr Allen Cabs, the official photographer for the whole event. His works are all amazing and he is really nice, too! It’s not my  first time that I worked with him.

Photo grabbed from Allen Cabs Writing Light

Let me tell you my story of how I beautify some of the official candidates of MGP 2017:

I’m sorry for the bare face. We had an early calltime and heading straight to Pampanga

The first official photo shoot took place at Aqua Beach Resort  in ABC Hotel, Angeles Pampanga. The photo shoot started at 8 in the morning and ended at 5-6 in the evening. It was such a long day but it was also quite an experience! Plus, the people are so nice, very professional but down to earth.

Here are some of the girls whom I glammed up:

    DHEZA ROSE ASIS

    ANDREA DELGADO

    THESSA MARIE SAAVEDRA

The look that I’ve created for  these  4 beauties are inspired from the Victoria Secrets Beach Photoshoot. Copper, Taupes, Peaches and Cream are the most used color pallete for the eyes based in Pencil & Gel liner Technique. The skin made with thin layers of foundation applied in perfection. Lips were painted with muted matte and glossy lips to finished the makeup look. Voila!!!!

Official Photos were taken by Allen Cabs writing light and Team of Gab Poblete and they used it  for  the press kit of the MGP 2017

Winners of Darling of the Press : Miss Darling of the Press: Jacqueline Mayoralgo, 1st Runner up: Mary Anne Mungcal, 2nd Runner Up: Charmaine Aller

Meet this lovely beauty Andrea as I enhanced their natural features for the Press Presentation Makeover held at West Avenue Suites. By the way the above   photo grabbed from Sir Edmund Chua are the winners for the Darling of the Press.. 🙂

For the press presentation makeover, I loved the AU NATUREL look. I believed that you can never go wrong with the Natural beauty. You will look confidently beautiful with a  radiant glow from within.

Sultry yet soft.. Minimal makeup requires proper preparation. Prep the skin right so that the makeup application will become more durable all day.

Nude is reinventing itself more luminous than ever, giving the face radiance and freshness. It’s out with pale skin and glossy lips and in with illuminating make-up: think silky complexion, luscious lips and va-va-voom lashes.

Another official photoshoot was the beauty Head Shot. These shoot are important for us MUA because it was our lifeblood in terms of porfolio.

FRESH FACE: Clean skin on this beauty Jacqueline Mayoralgo.Jam is wearing #rcmamakeup  as foundations  and #kryolantvpaint stick as a contour, #sleekmakeup for the highlight, and for the life of me cannot remember this liquid lipstick name!

Smokey eyes is one of the hottest makeup trends for this season. The only thing that matters is the color of the eyeshadows you’re going to use for you smokey eyes. Classic smokey are are in this season and that’s what I did for Andrea and Thessa. I used Chloe and Dolce and Gabbana as my inspirations for this look. If you want, you can sport smokey eyes with more unusual colors like the ones spotted on Chanel and Narciso Rodriguez’s runways. If you want to be more adventurous, you can opt for heavily smoked eyes. Heavy smokey eyes were seen on Vera Wang and Roberto Cavalli’s models.

For the last candidate (no photos shown) Marvelyn, I did soft lined eyes in halo effect plus HD complexion and muted lips.. Haha you can call me a Makeover Minimalist!!!

Swimsuit Competition was the next major event for Miss Global Philippines Beauties. Boracay Island became the host venue  for the  Swimsuit Competition of #MissGlobalPhilippines 2017. We’ve been part of the event as the Official  Hair and Makeup Artist. We enjoyed every minute of this event especially all the amazing people we got to meet and work with. We would like to thank the Organization for bringing us to a new adventure, opportunity, learning and skill. To the team #LizaQuerubin Kudos to all of us!!😀👍👍

Congratulations to MaryAnnMungcal, winner of Best in Swimsuit, Jacquiline Mayoralga, 1st Runner up And to Dianne Santiago, 2nd Runner up.

    KAM’s @18: A Vintage Garden Makeover

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? Now me, I’m doing great! I think this has been the longest time that I’ve not been able to update my blog for the reason of being ultra busy. Haha! Yeah! I mean ULTRA! I still get to update my FB, Twitter and Instagram a little so those who follow me there know what I’ve been up to recently.
But anyways, I’m back with blogging coz I miss it a lot! And what better way to be back than to share with you another makeup makeover.

So sit back and enjoy this roll of photos and makeovers.  Yes! Makeover(S) because this post includes 3 makeovers. 😉

    Meet my lovely debutante Kamille

Theme for her party was a Vintage Garden… and as I was in the mood for some Vintage with a twist inspired looks.

Our lovely debutante Kamille Carlos looks every inch a Goddess with pastel eye makeup that beautifully frame her eyes, shimmery pink cheeks and matte pink rose lips which make for a monochromatic look that’s far from boring.

Kam’s already has wonderful skin to start with, but what I focused on is to making it look bright and radiant without being anything shiny. I prepped her skin with my all-time proven and tested combo: Ponds Hydrating Gel, St Ives Collagen Timeless Moisturizer  and Rcma skin prep lotion and Graftobian Airbrush based. I set it with Rcma loose powder and FS powder foundation to make it more long-lasting. Then I slightly contoured her face to create dimension.

She has a natural looking brows, I made sure to define her brows carefully. I slightly created a somewhat straight looking brows as per requested by her father.

As for her eyes, I prepped it with thick concealer to avoid creasing, pat on NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk and pink champagne cream pots and dabbed on the hues of shimerry pinks, mauves and browns. Then to complete the look, I created the winged liner which was a little thin from the inside corners and thicker to the outer corner of the upper lash line. I extended it towards the middle of her lower lash line.

To finish of the whole makeup, I then applied coral pink blush, rosy pink matte lip color  plus a tiny bit of highliter on to the high spots of her face.

To finally pull-off the Vintage-inspired vibe, I curled her hair to give more volume and attached flowers on her braided crown.

    She’s Kamille Mom,Mrs. Carlos

Like mother, like daughter.. Mrs. Carlos also has amazing skin. I even asked her what’s her beauty secret and she said nothing!.. He he:)

And on to her makeover, I used soft browns, mauves and purples  in a subtle smokey eye, flushed cheeks and  matte nude pink lips completed the look.

Mr and Mrs Carlos, parents of the debutant

Making sure the whole makeup will last up to the end of the event.

And this is Kamille’s younger sister.

Sorry for not capturing separate photo of her.  She too, of course has an amazing skin. You can see in her smile how much of a beautiful and cheerful a person she is. 🙂

Since her skin is already very nice, I only did applied the basic skin stuff, subtle browns and purples at the corners of her lids for the eye shadows, plus some thin lashes. I applied peachy pink blush to add a youthful glow on to her cheeks. I then give her a soft coral pink lips to finish off the look.

    E-SESSION: JUSTIN + BERNA

Justin and Berna got recently engaged last December. And to celebrate that wonderful event, they wanted to do a couple shoot, not for a pre-nup shoot since the wedding event is on February 10, 2017.

Our client BERNA  is a Bulacan based who was just awesome to work with. Like most of our clients, Berns opted for an au natural makeup look that will enhance her features. Barely there’ make-up will never date and it always looks classy.  Done masterfully, it imbues the wearer with an ethereal glow that looks like her fresh-faced beauty is simply the result of good genes and a refreshing night’s sleep.

To achieved the look, I always start off with a clean face.  This means no mascara, no lipstick or powder, nada! We’re starting from scratch and building our way up.  So starting with a clean face is the key – and of course, prepping up with a moisturizer / primer which gives the skin a nice slip to make foundation application smooth and even.

I used a pencil liner technique to correct the eye shape, layering it with eyeshadow powder for a 3D effect. Lining the upper lashline and lowerwaterline with gel liner to make the eyes more defined and finished it with mauve creme lipstick. Voila were done!!! And now ready for their couple shoot😁

    Lovely Smile ☺

I can’t wait to see them walking in the aisle. This shoot was short and sweet! Congrats Jus and Berns! May you have a wonderful life ahead as a couple.

Hope you liked my short post! See you next time.

    LOVELY INC WEDDING

I’ve already been to a number of weddings and every time I am in one, I can’t help not to cry and be touched by all of the people’s love filling the air. It doesn’t matter what type of venue it be, as soon as I hear people expressing their sincerest love and being carefree, I immediately feel so ecstatic and emotional too.

April- my bride last April 29. (She is also my friend’s girlfriend) We did a trial hair and makeup weeks before the actual wedding so we’ve already discussed what look she wanted. She requested for a natural-looking flawless based makeup, subtle smokey defined eyes and a half up, half downdo.I don’t know why but I forgot to take a photo of the hairstyle. Ssh

This was just one of those moments that you could actually feel how happy, joyful and loving everyone was in the wedding. I especially loved the part wherein they exchanged their vows. Aww… Gosh! Everyone started to be more emotional. The Inc Minister who officiated the wedding ceremony was great at explaining to everyone how important it is to value the sacrament of marriage.

    Love bears all things,

    believes all things,

    hopes all things,

    endures all things.

The importance of Bridal Trial Run

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF WEDDING TRIAL EXACTLY?

    • Trials are also so important because not only do they show you how you will look on your wedding day, but you are also able to find out how long your look will last. You will figure out any hair and makeup tweaks that need to be made, and also find out the staying power of your look.
    Trial Makeup and Photoshoot
    • It allows you and the makeup artist to not only be formally acquainted, but also allows you to evaluate their professionalism, gauge their work, and also tests just how well you two vibe. Let’s face it, we wouldn’t want an unprofessional makeup artist who does not only doesn’t get along with you and your party, but also does a shotty job on makeup.
    Trial Makeup and Photoshoot
    • You can take the advantage to ask for skincare and  hair advices so you can look flawless. these trials are held prior to your wedding day, you will still have enough time  to apply what you will learn about how to be radiantly beautiful and natural looking during trial.
    Trial Makeup and Photoshoot
    • Your wedding hair and makeup routine may be different to your regular routine so you will look excemptionally flawless and beautiful to your wedding photographs. Looking gorgeous and relaxed on your wedding day is definitely a worthy reason on why to have a wedding trial hair and makeup trial to an experience professional hidefinition makeupartist.

Thank you April Anne for hiring my team to be your Bridal Hair and Makeup Artist. All photos captured by Allen Cabs Writing Lights.
