Bridal Trial run for Bride-to-Be

Good day fabulous people!!

Yesterday, I had a Bridal Hair and Makeup trial for my soon to be October Bride this year.  One thing that I love about wedding preparation is trial hair and makeup. I know a lot of my friends went through a lots of trial makeup before picking “the one”.

As a makeup artist, I understand the Importance of having a trial makeup, (click here) I highly  recommend it to my clients because it is the greatest day of any woman’s life to get married so looking great is not an option.

As for my makeup trial for this year, I am lucky to have met a fabulous woman whose inner beauty shone to bright she doesn’t even need any makeup on!

                   Trial makeup client

           Skin Type: Combination skin

Request: Smokey sultry eye makeup, flawless base

My client’s skin is an oily- combination skin all I need is to prepare her skin for smooth foundation application. I used ample of oil free moisturizer then prime her face with a mattifying face primer for the rest of her skin.

Before the airbrush foundation application, I always begin applying correctors first mixed with concealers to hide imperfections of the client’s face. To even out the skin tone, I used two shades of OCC airbrush foundation. Grabbing the the lightest shade to highlight the highest point of her face and grabbing 1 to 2 steps darkest shade to scuplt her forehead, cheekbones, jawlines, noseline up to the eye contour.

I want to create sultry looking eyes; I used pencil technique and creamshadow technique to correct and reshape the eyes. Once you get the shape start building your eye shadow color starting from your transition, middle and your contour colors. When I say colors, I literally used several colors to achieved maximum depth and definitions. ( eye shadows used, lorac pro pallete, kryolan pro pallets, graftobian eye shadows)

For sultry finish, I picked a dark gel liner pencil top with black liquid pen for a more richer look.  Coats and coats of mascara are applied after curling her lashes with Tweezerman Eyelashes curlers; I also applied falsies on her by cutting 1 into 2 as applying false lashes as may make her eyes more droopy. Bohktoh wing2 and Taiwan no8 were used as for her eyelashes.

Let’s not forget to contour the face and nose are for that instant painless nose lift and face lift!

As for the cheeks, I used kett airbrush blush top with apricot shade from kryolan blusher pallete.

As for the lips, I used two lip pencil in Detail to contour the lips applying liquid lipstick from Anastacia Beverly hills (forgot the name shade, sorry:)

Last but not the least, I set the area that could oil with a Graftobian HD Translucent Powder with Nyx mattifying setting spray.

All- Over Natural : Graduation Makeover

Hello Everyone! Welcome back to my blogsite:)

Another makeover time! Today’s client is Caireen (my returning client heheh). Last month, i did the prom hair and makeup for her. If you haven’t seen about Caireen’s Blair Waldorf  Prom Makeover,  click here.

Before: No nothing..:)

Caireen has fair- morena smooth skin. A few blemishes around the forehead and chin but nothing a concealer can’t hide. She has combination type skin, so I made sure I set my foundation with powder to make it last long. She specifically wanted a simple but defined day look makeup that will suit her uniform and the ceremony itself.  Then as for the hair, she wanted a side- messy wavy hairstyle that will make her look naturally chic.

Before and After : An Outdoor Photo Shoot

Last Saturday,  was my first time to set foot on Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wild Life Center. It was a hot yet cloudy day. I was invited to do hair and makeup makeover for another Open Shoot organized by Ms Dana Gillian Damatac.

Before and After : Dana Gillian Damatac.

Since Dana has wonderful skin, I didn’t want to cover it up with heavy foundation. I kept it as sheer as possible to keep it natural, but used adequate amounts of lighter and darker cream foundation colors to make her face appear slimmer and more symmetrical. For the eyes, I used Smokey Cat’s eye Technique to add drama on her eyes.  Vibrant personality and fashion sense? I used neutral peachy- pinks and nude peach pink with gloss to match, really bringing out her cheeks and full lips.

Before and After: Glenda Omania

Meet my second model,  Glenda. She requested for natural makeup look and willfully permitted.:) I gave her a subtle shimmer of slightly smoked brown shadows for her eyes with pinky rose shimmer on her lids. In photo shoot Faux  lashes is a must, so I applied a pair of natural faux lashes and run a generous coats of waterproof mascara. I actually anticipated that since this is a outdoor shoot event and would be held at the public park, I made sure to use face products that would give her flawless full coverage that would be long lasting and water-resistant. 😉

As always, favorite combo for my clients that’s proven and tested would be Celeteque Hydration moisturizer and Nurturing Force Anti Blot/ Shine Face primer. I also applied RCMA cream foundation to some parts of her face to build more coverage then I set this with RCMA No Color Process Setting powder to make it more long lasting. The look was finished of with flushed peach cheeks and peachy pink lips. I mixed both Maybelline Nude and neutral peach  pink  lipstick.

Before and After : Barbie Tan ( Beng Sang)
I did the hair and makeup of my  friend Barbie (3rd model).  She has a very good skin. What I did is to  spot conceal those dark spots and also lighten and brighten up her under eyes, I used my ever trusted Nurturing Force Anti Shine face primer,   I then custom-mixed a few foundations to add dimension to her face . Contoured and set her face with Fanny Serrano 2-way powder in Chino, Organza and Rajah.
You will noticed that she has a droopy and hooded eye shape. So I created a very subtle shading technique  to fake a crease.  For a more natural fake-crease, I applied  a matte eye shadow that’s 2-3 shades darker than your skin onto the crease. Proceed by applying a lighter colored eye shadow under the brow bone and for added definition, add a dark eye shadow on the outer v.
For her brows, I used my currently trusted combo: Primsacolor in Ebony Brow Pencil and In2it brow powder trio and finished it off with Brow Setting Spray
To complete this sophisticated look, I finished it up by lining her lips using NYX in True Red and filled them in with Colour Collection in Tango Red  with OCC Lip Tar in Clear.

Before and After : Lito Ocier
Do you not notice a huge difference for my last model?  Well, that’s actually the point. 😉
What we want to achieve is a natural, flawless look using just the basic things so that we could avoid having an oil-slick face. This is especially important during shoots or other events because thousands of photos will be taken even that of the model.
I prepped his face with moisturizer and applied a small amount of custom-mixed foundation using my RCMA Cream and brown corrector. Achieving a foundation mix that 2  to 4 shades of male model’s skin is just about the most important thing to do. Custom-mixing the right shade may require a little more practice but when you’ve learned it, it becomes easy.
This leaves the skin to look naturally flawless, eliminating some skin discoloration. I used my most favorite Flat Top Brush to buff it in. I then set it with a mix of Rajah and Chino to achieve an oil-free skin. I did a little contouring at the hollows of his cheeks, jaws and temples and the inner – three fourths of the upper nose line, using my NYX Matte bronzer in darkest shades.
To add a little definition, I applied a thin coat of black mascara onto her lashes to open up his eyes a little. I brushed his brows with a clear brow gel to tidy them up. I applied a thin coat of a clear lip balm with  is all there is to it.
  Official Photos coming soon.
Hope you all enjoyed this quick post and learned a little something.
See you on my next one. 😉
